Employee Health & Training
The health and wellbeing of our employees has always been fundamental. All members of our staff have undergone a comprehensive training regarding COVID- 19 health and safety protocols before returning to work (proper hand hygiene, mask usage, social distancing regulations). In order to ensure that the hygiene protocols are followed to the letter, the hotel has appointed key individuals in every department to oversee staff’s and guests’ compliance to the measures.
Guest’s Arrival Procedure
Due to the current social distancing protocols, we will not be able to welcome you with a handshake or a hug like we used to. When you arrive at Agali Houses our team will perform temperature checks with a highly sensitive infra-red thermometer. Check-in will be performed using electronic means where possible. Sneeze Guards have been added to the reception counters. The check-in procedure will be performed outdoors, in our private Terrace.
You will then be informed on all the new hygiene, health and safety measures. Hand sanitizers will be available in key places around the hotel including: the reception, lobbies, guest rooms, restaurant entrance, public WC, and pool area. An amenities kit containing masks and hand sanitizer will be received from the reception. COVID-19 hygiene cards will be placed in different places around the property.
Arrival and departure times of guests will be requested, to avoid queuing. Guests will be escorted to their rooms while maintaining social distancing.
Suspected COVID-19 Case
In case a guest is experiencing any symptoms, they will be provided with medical care according to government regulations. A designated doctor will assist them and provide assistance, including testing and health care services. Housekeeping service will be suspended for the protection of our staff. Any employees that present any symptoms are required to self-isolate for 14 days before returning to work.
Hygiene Protocols
All members of our staff have to wear protective masks at all times. They have been also instructed to wash their hands or use the appropriate sanitizers provided by the hotel every one hour and after a break, sneezing, using toilet, smoking, eating and drinking.
Cleaning and sanitizing of the hotel’s premises have increased, particularly in all public areas and frequent-contact surfaces such as front-desk counters, door handles, public bathrooms, room keys, stair handrails, dining surfaces, and sitting area. Strict cleaning procedures also apply to the back of the house. Finally, special chemical cleaners proven effective against viruses and bacteria are used in cleaning of our premises, whereas steam cleaning is used for the disinfection of soft furnishing.
Housekeeping
Our cleaning products and protocols meet the Greek government’s specific guidelines for approved effective use against viruses and bacteria. When cleaning guest rooms, we pay particular attention to high-touch items. All bed linen and laundry are changed during your stay upon request and washed at high temperatures. Proper and frequent ventilation of the premises will be maximized. Air-conditioning filters are changed frequently.
Guests will be asked if they have any time preference for room cleaning and will be advised that this procedure lasts approximately 60 minutes with the enhanced standards. Should any guests choose not to have their room cleaned on a daily basis, we will respect their wishes and make individual arrangements directly with them, based upon their specific preferences. All pillow and mattress protectors are replaced on check out.
The guests’ directory is available digitally on tablets which are cleaned and disinfected before arrival. Coffee makers have been removed from all rooms and are available upon request. All china and glassware are washed in dishwashers prior your arrival.
Social Distancing
Throughout the hotel, guests will be reminded to practice social distancing that also applies to our staff members, by maintaining a distance of 2-meters/6ft. Where possible, signs have been installed at guest and staff communication points. Queuing systems will be implemented at the front desk, restaurant and public WC.
In order to practice social distancing, the layout of the hotel has changed in all public areas and back of the house.
Swimming Pool
Access to the pool area is controlled, and all furniture has been rearranged in order to maintain safety distances. Swimming pool water disinfection levels will be monitored every hour. Cleaning and disinfection of the area and furniture takes place every hour and after each use.
Bar and Restaurant
All furniture has been rearranged in order to maintain safety distances, and wherever possible, signs were installed to remind guests of the hygiene protocols. All furniture will be cleaned and disinfected between guests. You may view the menu either on your own device by scanning a QR code, or by using disposable menus. Some dishes have been removed from our menu, to allow the kitchen team to maintain social distance. Food will be served covered directly from the kitchen to the guests’ table. Condiments, salt and pepper are in single use packages. Hand sanitizers are installed in key points. Guests are not allowed to sit at the Bar according to the local guidelines, but only at tables. Sneeze guards have been installed to protect the food, and our staff will serve you. Sanitizer is provided at the buffet, and signage reminding of social distancing measures has been installed.
We encourage our guests to pay by credit card. Self- service buffet during breakfast will be suspended.
In Room Dining
Guests can view our menu in the tablets provided by the hotel. All equipment will be sanitized after each use. Our staff will deliver your order to your room while maintaining social distancing. Food will be covered. Guests will be asked to place the room service tray on the table of their balcony and then contact us to collect it.
